Treatments: Botulinum toxins (Botox, Dysport, and other neuromodulators) for cosmetic purposes

Injection of a botulinum toxin into a muscle weakens or paralyzes the muscle temporarily, typically for about six months. Use of a botulinum toxin in the face improves wrinkles that form with activation of a muscle.

Medical insurance does not cover cosmetic botulinum toxin. The fee for Botox is $12.50 per unit. Dysport uses three times the number of units for the same effect, and so the fee for Disport is adjusted accordingly, $12.50 per 3 units.
